Spo2 around 90

My dad age 63 (Pre diabetic and BP ) had vomit and loose stools on 09/01-25 night on 10th Jan Mornig we took to nearest clinic and doctor given 4 bottles saline, now his SPO2 levels are around 91-92 range and ECG also looks abnormal. Patient has delta variant covid in 2021 that time 40% lungs got affected. Pls suggest what need to be done

pls get his 2d echo done and share it along with his latest xray over a consult..need to do a proper workup before arriving at any conclusion

He needs to be hospitalized for proper evaluation, in patients with vomiting and loose stools there can be a few reasons for his low spo2 1. In severe gastroenteritis ppl can develop acute kidney injury and renal shut down with volume overload 2. The 4 salines could also be the cause of volume overload depending on the ejection fraction of the heart 3. He might actually have a respiratory tract infection as some infections of the respiratory tract present with gastroenteritis too. All this needs to be evaluated and hence better to hospitalize for further evaluation.
