Spleen operation
Sir my brother platelets level keeps on dropping. Around 12 days before his platelets level was 20,000 then we admitted in hospital and gave 4 unit platelets now it's around 48,000. Sir What should I do , Do his spleen needed to be removed. And what is the cost of the operation. Please help me
It depends on the underlying Cause of his condition. Let the Hematologist /surgeon decide on surgery, consult them in persin and discuss the need for surgery.
Cost of surgery depends on whether it's laparoscopic or open surgery. It may cost from 1-1.5 lakhs or even more depending on the centre. But remember Splenectomy is a major surgery.
