You are having Eustachian tube dysfunction.
Eustachian tube dysfunction is when the tube connecting your throat and middle ear gets inflamed and plugged up.
In this the ears may feel plugged or full, Sounds may seem muffled. You may feel a popping or clicking sensation. You may have pain in one or both ears. You may hear ringing in your ears (called tinnitus).
Next Steps
Decongestant spray is VERY helpful to resolve eustachian tube dysfunction, but do NOT use this spray daily for long period of time as people do get addicted to this medication (a condition known as rhinitis medicamentosa). Steroid and anti-histamine nasal sprays can also be used.
Health Tips
Blocked eustachian tubes often get better on their own. You may be able to open the blocked tubes with a simple exercise. Close your mouth, hold your nose, and gently blow as if you are blowing your nose. Yawning and chewing gum also may help.
