It seems that you are having some obsessive compulsive symptoms. Obsessions are some repetitive and intrusive thoughts which can be regarding anything (like in your case, symmetry of the items or some particular way in which you want to keep the things). These thoughts are sometime very dis stressfull and lead to some actions which the individual may find compulsive, as these actions can help to get rid of those intrusive thoughts. Later on it can be a pattern. But in your case it doesn't seem to be severe. So i would suggest you to visit clinical psychologist for psychotherapy sessions. Early interventions will bring better and long lasting outcome. I would recommend you to take any medication at the moment. Detail evaluation is needed. So visit a clinical psychologist.
