Hole in the ear drum can be corrected surgically, the type of surgery will depend on the size of the hole and certain other factors like duration of the symptoms etc. Certain investigations like Pure tone audiometry will be required to find the cause of ringing in the ear. If the ear drum is left with the hole, it can be a cause for repeated infections and further hearing loss.
