I have Gallbladder Stone & that needs OT. Moreover I have severe sleep apnea(oxygen saturation goes down to 67%)...How risky it is to provide general anaesthesia??? What precautionary measures can be taken to rule out the risk ??? Is it still risky if CPAP is provided?? Whether any special kind of general anaesthesia there exist for severe sleep apnea patient?? If general anaesthesia is so risky then is not it possible to operate Gallbladder stone by regional anaesthesia???
Hi if u use cpap daily then the risk is less , also will get ur ABG done to chk ur oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange , depending on report can comment on actual risk.
your cpap needs to be rechecked if you're desturating to 67 on it..it will be a high risk surgery..check your abg and efforts before going for it..do get an impulse oscillometry done too
You should continuously use CPAP. General anesthesia is risky as you have severe sleep apnea. There is no special kind of general anesthesia but it is a high risk surgery. It is not possible to operate using regional anesthesia for gall bladder stones.
