Once sinus surgery is done and the sinus holes are open, how long does it take to block the holes again ? I mean how effective surgery will be ?

Surgery for sinusitis is not THE TREATMENT but merely the FIRST STEP OF THE TREATMENT! Surgery just created a clear pathway for medicines to reach the diseased sinuses, widening the sinus openings, straightening any bent portions of nasal septum, removing any obstructions like polyps. This must be followed by months of Intranasal Corticosteroid Spray therapy to heal the underlying sinus disease and heal the sinus mucosa. This alone can prevent future disease recurrences and give you a functioning nose!

Depends on the pathology that the patient had and the surgical skills of the SURGEON. Usually patients do well if they start douching their nose after surgery.
