Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT
The CT scan of paranasal sinuses shows mucosal thickening involving bilateral maxillary sinuses, left sphenoid sinus, and left frontal sinus, suggestive of sinusitis. There is also blockage of the left frontoethmoid recess, which may be contributing to impaired sinus drainage and persistent symptoms. Additionally, an S-shaped nasal septum and right concha bullosa (an air-filled cavity within the nasal concha) are noted, which can further obstruct airflow and sinus drainage.
Next Steps
Given that a 10-day course of antibiotics has been completed with minimal relief
1) Nasal saline irrigation to help clear the sinuses.
2) Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) may be considered to improve sinus drainage if blockage persists and symptoms are severe.
