Sinus Infection
I was sick with the flu (or cold?) for a about a week, started to get better, was able to taste food again. However a couple of days later, I felt awful. A visit to the walk-in showed I have a sinus infection. I was prescribed antibiotics (amoxicillin + rhinocort nasal spray), and today is my last day of amoxicillin. I feel better for the most part. Still have a bit of congestion and stuffiness/sore throat. However I still cannot smell or taste anything. I'm worried this is permanent!Please help
You seem to be suffering from acute rhinosinusitis following viral upper respiratory tract infection. Usually it will resolve after a course of antibiotics. You may need to use anti cold medicines and decongestant nasal drops for few days
