Hi doctors, I have lower back pain. It was there for long but very mild pain. But yesterday while playing while running because of some sudden shock it immediately started paining so severely. Now I could not walk also normally can't stretch even little bit. Even if i lay down also, it's paining. Now I'm worried if it's normal sprain or some severe back injury? Can someone please give me some suggestion to identify the problem with some symptoms?? Thanks in advance!!

Hello, according to the history you said there is a possibility of muscle going in spasm .you may take a heat pack for 20 mins thrice in a day to relieve the spasm and take good rest . For your long standing pain it is advisable you visit a physiotherapist who can assess you and give you an exercise program to relieve pain. As constant mild pain may be due to some weakness of muscle . As per your profession being an engineer you must be sitting for long hours on a chair .its improtant to get your ergonomics right! Take care
