Most probably cause of this type of pain ureteric colic( colicky pain due to obstructive stone in the ureter) Initially needs an ultrasound kub for stone & kidney swelling ( hydronephrosis) also Urine routine test
Next Steps

Pain can be explained by any ureteric calculus ( stone in the ureter) causing hydronephrosis. Also there maybe superadded infection, so certain tests need to be done to ascertain the exact cause.
Next Steps
get a USG abdomen and pelvis , xray kub, urine culture and sensitivity, urine routine microscopy, cbc and kft.
Health Tips
consult a trained urologist
