Severe cold and cough during pregnancy

I have been having severe cold cough and fever since 5 days wherein now fever has subsided but cold and cough still persist. I'm 12wks pregnant wherein my doctor has advised Crocin cold and flu thrice a day for which today is the third day. Due to coughing and mucus in throat my belly hurts and I'm not able to sleep. Please advice (cold, blocked nose, mucus, cough)
