Sedation for surgery

I am due to have IV Sedation for an elective surgery shortly Not sure which drugs will be used but it will involve an anaesthetist Will I be aware of the procedure or have amnesia etc

Hie there Depending on the procedure you might be given general anaesthesia or regional anaesthesia If general anaesthesia you will not remember anything of the procedure after u wakeup If regional anaesthesia youll be awake but youll not have any pain in the operative site

Sometimes you will be given general anaesthesia or IV sedation depending on requirement for surgery and what surgery it is.. If it’s Iv sedation… u will be sedated but not paralysed .. you will be breathing on your own… and if it’s general anaesthesia you will be fully paralysed and breathing will be taken over by ventilator support and in that case u will not be aware about the procedure done
