Scratch from parrot claw

2023-11-14 05:48:08
My wife is pregnant from 6 months. On 13th Nov'23 we visited a bird sanctuary where she got scratched by a parrot while it sat on her hand. Does she need any rabies vaccine or any other vaccine? Attached a photo of the scratch.

There's no need to worry. First thing, rabies can't be spread via nail scratch, and the second thing is that birds don't get rabies. So your wife is safe. She doesn't need to get antirabies vaccination.
