Scaphoid Fracture

I fractured my wrist while playing football and ignored it for a month as there wasn't much pain. After that I went to a doctor and he put a cast on my hand. Then I went to a new doctor after a month and looking at my previous x-ray he told me that you would've had a surgery but after a new x-ray concluded that I'm healing and wrapped a crepe. Why?

Most commonly scaphoid fractures heal by themselves except for proximal pole fractures due to the type of blood supply..so ideally we wait for 4 weeks unless the scaphoid fracture is displaced or angulated or dislocated..if in 4 weeks there is no sign of union it requires surgery..so you are on the right treatment.. but you need to wait till it completely heals..
