Thigh pain or sleeplessness over thigh occurs becuse of many reasons . One of the common cause is meralgia paraesthetica , but it is  a benign condition on which a nerve which takes sensations from the thigh region gets compressed near the waist region. It commonly seen adult patients who are overweight or those having rapid weight gain or weight loss, those use underwear with tight elastic or tight waist belt.in this patient it may be the possible diagnosis, but difficult to say without evaluating the patient. It is also  not right to comment on other doctors prescription without knowing proper detail of the patient as they must have given the medicine according to the requirement of the patient
