Although this should have been discussed with her Rheumatologist Nevertheless just to let you aware that HCQ CAN rarely cause retinopathy hence every 5 year patient should have OCT scan to keep an eye on impending retinopathy features. Retinopathy due to HCQS is very rare. P.S: PARACETAMOL can cause  liver failure so why Dr prescribe it? Well everything has side-effects but clinicians do assess pros and cons and take a wise decision and sometimes rationale may not be easily understandable to common public.

There is a safe dose with every medicine..as with hcqs..its rarely seen with dis dose..but still during follow up we do recommend eye screening if it's required...
