I am trying to relactate after 3 weeks because of some infection and I used antibiotics. I tried to pump the milk but milk is not coming at all. After 1 day I saw the milk outcome but it is quite thick and not as normal milk. It's less thick than body lotion and milk is also coming very less like 20 drops. Please help me whether I can feed the baby with that thick milk.
Hello first listen to me, milk is produced only when baby suck or lick the nipple. Then message reaches to brain and then reflex is set and reaches to breast and milk is produced. Colostrum is initial milk which contain immunity boosters and rich in micronutrients. So your work I'd to put baby to breast after 1hr initially. Apply some sugar water so he start licking. Drink more liquid in form of milk and water while feeding a baby. If your mind is positive to feed then the enough milk is produced. Check nipple holes. Press with hand to examine. Shower of milk should come means nipple holes are not blocked otherwise consult your gynaecologist.
