Regarding pneumonia vaccine
My mother who is having cough variant asthma, BP, diabetes, cholesterol took Prevanar 13 vaccine in july 2025 under doctor supervision. Is it recommended to take Prevanar 23 after an year.
And when should be the next of Prevanar 13 taken?

For high-risk patients like your mother, Pneumovax 23 (PPSV23) should be taken at least 1 year after Prevenar 13 â so from July 2026 onwards is correct. Prevenar 13 is generally a one-time dose for adults and does not need to be repeated. Pneumovax 23 may need a booster after 5 years given her multiple conditions.

If your mother is more than 50 years of age and as having asthma you can take pneumovak 23 after 1 year of prevenar 13 that is after July 2026. As per recent guidline even u can think of PCV 20 OR 21 once in lifetime which doesn't need booster.
