Redness/Swelling near toenail with pain

There is redness & swelling on the skin at the side of the toenail. Pus formation as well. Had removed some nail fragments on the side of the toenail. However, swelling/redness continues. Taking hot water soaks and soframycin ointment which has brought some relief but swelling and redness has not gone. Please advise.
