Red Bump on arm

2025-10-07 13:44:57
My daughter is 40 days old. She has developed this red bump on her arm. It has a slight yellowish mouth. It is hard. She has received the BCG Vaccine. But I am not sure whether it is from the vaccine or not. It seems that it is not painful for her as she is normal. She is feeding properly. Everything else seems to be normal. Please guide me for further treatment plans.

This is normal after bcg. Don't worry. If it is increasing in size/painful please visit a clinic and get it checked out. The younger the child, the more the caution needed in seeking proper pediatricians advice in clinic

Apply Neosporin ointment twice daily, consult a doctor if swelling increases or if pus point

Very commonly seen. Timing also matches with bcg vaccination at birth. Antibiotics pain killers needed. If pus forms, then drainage. Also axillary lymph node infection/ abscess also a risk. To be ruled out
