Recurrent miscarriage
I have suffered 2 recurrent miscarriages in past 1 year both in 2nd trimester...15th & other in 23rd week. During the 1st pregnancy; i had a emergency laparoscopic operation for a large ovarian cyst -21 cm at 13 weeks. Cyst (16 cm)was detected only during my 1st ultrasound done at 7 weeks after i hd little bleeding. The miscarriage happened after 12 days of operation.
I conceived again after 6 months. My all reports were normal till 16th week except slight vaginal bleeding 4 times. I was taking HCG Injections ; Duphaston & dubagest 300 sr tablet & complete bed rest.At 23rd week; i went into preterm labor inspite of my cervix length being normal till 16th week.
In both the cases; i felt something muscular coming out of my vagina without pain or water breakout. During my 2nd pregnancy, baby's heartbeat was still present but cervix was completely dilated but after labour; it was a stillbirth.
What tests are required to be done before planning again & what precautions to be taken?
Testing that may be done includes karyotype analysis of both partners. The karyotype is the chromosomal, or genetic, make-up of a person... The uterus (the womb) and the uterine cavity (inside of the womb) will often be evaluated. There are several ways to evaluate the uterine cavity, including a/an ultrasound, saline ultrasound, hysterosalpingogram X-ray, MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), and/or hysteroscopy (to look inside the uterus)...... Antiphospholipid antibodies, particularly anticardiolipin antibody and lupus anticoagulant, will likely be checked. ..... Tests of hormone function may also be done. Thyroid function tests and thyroid antibodies may be checked, along with measurement of prolactin, the hormone responsible for breast milk production. Ovarian reserve tests may be performed, which indicate how well an ovary is functioning....Consult Gynecologist for further advice....
