Really bad dryness and irritation in eye

2026-03-09 11:00:51
Hello doctors, I've had persisting issues of my right eye being really dry, it feels like sand paper, my left eye does not bother me at all, it rarely acts up. I subconsciously squint my eyes and when I realize, I relax my muscles, when Im outside, even little wind makes my eye irritated, and the irritation just doesn't stop. I have glasses and I also use refresh tears eyedrops, but that doesn't help at all either. Please advise as recently the pain and irritation has increased

Hello ma'am, Based on the history definitely you are suffering from dry eyes. As a standard medical treatment try using lubricant eye drops and gel. Other form of eyedrops which are really helpful are Cyclosporine and lifitegrast There ceratin therapies which might be beneficial: IPL therapy (Intense Pulse Light) NuLids therapy

You might be having severe dry eye , it might be due to gland dysfunction, Use olopat 0.1% twice a day along with sodium hyaluronate eyedrops 4times a day . Cyclosporine 0.1 % eye drops twice a day ( it takes 2 wks for time of onset ) till then use lots of lubricants
Next Steps
Avoid long usage of screens.
Health Tips
Give warm compression and massage the eye lids . Take breaks in btw the screen time .
