Rabies virus cannot survive in open air. It requires a host, a living being.
So if the other child had the virus in her, it is inside the body not on the surface of skin so your child cannot get affected in that manner.
But yes definitely need to avoid that to avoid other infection.
Rabies vaccine can also be taken as prophylaxis so it will prevent rabies in the future in case of any animal bite.
