Question regarding rabies
My daughter is 4 and half years old...today my daughter shared her food with a 2years old child...who was bitten by a mongoonse in her fingers 1day back.. though she is now under treatment still as there is a Cut on her fingers...problem is as there is a open wound on her finger.. and while eating both of them my daughter nd that baby sucked their fingers..I am very much worried about my daughter...is there any possibility of catching rabies as my daughter and tht baby ate from the same bowl sucking finger...plz help..what to do.
Rabies virus cannot survive in open air. It requires a host, a living being.
So if the other child had the virus in her, it is inside the body not on the surface of skin so your child cannot get affected in that manner.
But yes definitely need to avoid that to avoid other infection.
Rabies vaccine can also be taken as prophylaxis so it will prevent rabies in the future in case of any animal bite.
