We all know that TB can develop in mostly any part of the body. But is true that tuberculosis in few regions doesn't cause fever ? Evening rise in fever is a main symptom of TB . Throw some light on this.

Evening rise of fever is one of diagnostic symptoms of tuberculosis. But then 10% of tuberculosis patients do not show evening rise of fever. 30% of patients do not show weight loss in initial stage of tuberculosis. If one suspects TB Can for for Montoux tuberculin test Which is confirmatory test for TB.

Hi...yes u are right... Not always evening rise of fever is significant... sometimes patients present with sudden loss of weight, loss of appetite or some present with dry cough for several months or may present with a lump that is enlarged lymph node... In all these cases fever may be present or not present...

It sends on the patients sustainability of the symptoms .she may not complain but the disease would be there.. Xray,scanning would give a clear picture of the organ/ tissue damage. So just rise of temperature in the evening may not be the diagnostic tool. The patient may be on loss of appetite,indigestion,headache,constipation,irritable bowels,loss of weight,etc. So all together a conglamuration of the symptoms with the lab findings make way for clear diagnosis.

In some cases though the patient may present with the atypical picture like pain abdomen,  fever intermittent episodes not a evening rise of temperature, weight loss,  a thorough examination and proper investigations may help in guiding tuberculosis but the treatment only starts after proving.
