I want to ask whether General Blood Picture (GBP) and PBS( Peripheral Blood Smear) one and the same thing? I asked the pathologist and he was saying that GBP and PBS are one and the same. Is he saying right? I want your expert opinion. I am also attaching a report for your perusal so that you can verify the same and let me know that is this the correct way in which PBS is reported.

General or in proper terms Complete blood count shows the type of infection, with constituents of blood like RBC, WBC and platelets counts.
Next Steps
helps a physician to know what type of infection is causing the symptoms,eg bacterial or viral or allergic. Whereas peripheral blood smear will tell the shape and size of the cells, to differentiate between the deficiency, or whether presence of parasite etc ..
