Your sitting habits need to be evaluated. If you are sitting with left leg crossed, then your gluteal muscles remain stretched and inhibited. To compensate for them the hamstrings overwork to get the hip extension. They also cause reduced knee extension at the stance phase. To get the knee extension, the quadriceps need to overwork thus creating stiffness within them and the type of sensation that you are having.
