Having diabetes level 250+ Is there any cure for pyorrhea( i.e periodontitis )? Dentist said he can treat only when diabetes level comes under 150.I am 57 years old. My front tooth has loosened too much because of pyorrhea, will I be having complete tooth loss in near future if not treated?

Hello, as per your query, your dentist is right regarding diabetes. But you can go for scaling / oral prophylaxis even in case of uncontrolled diabetes. Diabetes and periodontitis has two way relationship. So by removing the local irritants we can reduce the periodontal inflammation and can enhance the diabetes level. But consultation of diabetologist is mandatory. Other point in your query, if the oral health is neglected then tooth loss is obvious.
Next Steps
do visit a periodontist and general physician for proper evaluation and management

Scaing or cleaning of teeth defenitely can be and shud be carried out. This will help in the local infectoon to come down . We can expect a slower recovery but improvement will happen . Extraction of teeth though shud be delayed or thought upon . Dental lasers help in rebound tissue responses . This can be thought upon depending upon the bone loss examined on an xray

Your dentist is right  and ur assumption of tooth loss is also right if the diabetes is not controlled. Kindly consult ur physician regarding the matter and get an appointment with nutritionist to help you with proper guidance.
