Hello ! I think you are asking about PTK/ PRK that is photorefractive keratectomy . It's a laser based procedure done on the cornea for various purposes like giving the patient freedom from glasses, removing superficial scars/ spots from the cornea and in a condition known as corneal dystrophy. By far PRK is a safe procedure .
