Hi, I understand it can get frustrating and exhausting talking about the same things over and over again. Sorry that you are currently going through this, but it is also great that you are not giving up in taking care of yourself.
A Counselor-client FIT is very important and it is totally okay to contact another therapist, if you do not feel completely heard/ seen/ understood/ accepted by the earlier counselor.
However, therapy yields results only when there is consistency and effort. In case you feel that there is a therapist who GETS you, try to have more sessions with them. The most important part of psychotherapy is the therapeutic relationship you develop. And that is what truly helps a person heal and grow. Try to remind yourself of why you started therapy each time you want to discontinue.
Making changes is not easy, at least initially but it gets better with time. Try to accept yourself completely. Embrace your emotions and feel your feelings. If you judge yourself, you will feel that another person is also judging you. Whereas therapists are trained to listen and help without any bias or judgment.
You can ask yourself:
1. Why do I want to go to therapy
2. What are my needs and goals from therapy
3. What are some things I look for in a therapist
4. What all do I want to share with my therapist
5. How can I trust the process and be more patient with myself
Feel free to try guided meditation and deep breathing exercises (Youtube has examples). Journaling your inner feelings, spending time in the sun and having a consistent sleep-wake schedule also help.
