I want to have a mental assessment by a certified psychiatrist as a requirement for job placement.

Nowadays many companies want an assessment by a Psychiatrist. You can go ahead with it. Pl. confirm if they want an assessment from a govt. hospital or a certificate from a Psychiatrist working in private sector will do.
