Presence of Varicocele in testicles
I am a diabetic since 2014 and currently eager to father a child. My sperm count is 10 mn/ml with 50% motility. Currently my HBA1C is 6.6. To understand the reason of sperm count not going up i have went through scrotum doppler test. In that report it was reported that my left testicular is having mild varicocele while right is having moderate. I want to ask whether this can be treated with medicines. I dont have pain in testicles and other things are normal. Dont drink, smoke 1 or 2 cig a day.
Hi, varicocele is known to cause low sperm count, poor motility, poor morphology and any combination of these 3. When your semen analysis reports consistently show any of these diminished parameters in the presence of varicocele, surgical repair of varicocele is recommended - even if you do not have pain or discomfort. If neglected, sometimes irrevocable loss of spermatogenesis might occur.
Certainly, varicocele will not vanish with medicines.
Smoking is a big enemy to spermatozoa and I encourage you to stop it, altogether.
