Hi doctors, my niece told me that she sometime feel pain and piercing just below chest on left side and find it difficult to breath for 5 - 8 seconds. She is also having problem of asthma but pain and piercing happens after every one or two days.

Hi. I understand your concern s. It is mostly due to asthma . If asthma is not under control she may have these aches and pain. Consult a pulmonologist to get a pulmonary function test which is needed for the diagnosis as well as to assess severity of asthma based on which treatment can be started.
