If oral hygiene is poor then go for scaling and polishing.

Periodontitis is caused by bacteria  so antibiotics can relieve infection, whereas herpes is iviral infection .oral herpes will not cause Periodontitis. Periodontitis is caused by poor oral hygiene, plaque deposits, diabetes, intake of antiepileptic drugs.get your teeth cleaned, maintain good oral hygiene.

Did you mean oral herpes ? Oral herpes is a viral infection caused by Herpes simplex virus type -1, which presents as sores or ulcers on different parts of the oral cavity (80%) and the other lesions could be found on the genital region (20%). Exposure could be contact with infected saliva, mucus membranes or skin transmitted by intimate or personal contact with someone with an infection or reactivation of latent virus in the body. Depending on your immunity, it can just present as an ulcer or cause periodontitis. Antibiotics should never be taken as monotherapy and is advised only for co bacterial infection with periodontal bacteria or suspected secondary infection.
