My mom is 56 years old. Due to perecardial effusion, there is a thick layer of fluid around heart. Doctor told they will perform pericardiotomy surgery. How is the surgery done? What are the risk factors? Doctors told if we postpone surgery, risk factors are more. What safety steps must be followed after surgery

It is open heart surgery, chest is opened and pericardium is removed so that fluid does not get accumulated again and again, the surgeon will tell you steps to be followed after surgery and after discharge
