Thank you for your query regarding amenorrhea.
There is a possibility your wife may be having oligo or anovulation.
She needs to undergo certain blood tests and an ultrasound for the same in addition to a full clinical history and physical examination.
I would suggest:
1. Serum
Prolactin, serum
testosterone,
TSH, FH and
LH.
2. Transvaginal ultrasound of the pelvic organs.
A hysetro-laparascopy is a method of visualisation of your pelvic organs from endoscopic route, on the abdominal-peritoneal surface as well as the uterine cavity within.
It would not indicate a hormonal imbalance, hence a serum biochemical assay would be more prudent.
