Hello... The private Pediatrician informed that there are two types of PCV vaccines one costs 1600 and other 3800 rupees. What is the difference and which one we should give for 6 weeks 6 days baby? And can PCV be given one week after the pentavac?

the one that costs 1600 contains 10 subtypes of the pneumococcal bacteria and is PCV10. the one costing 3800 contains 13 subtypes and hence PCV13. since PCV 13 contains more subtypes, the cost is more. practically speaking there isnt much of a difference between the two, but if you want the very best for your baby you can opt for PCV13. whichever one you decide is going to be continued for a total of 4 vaccinations. you cannot interchange later. you can give PCV along with Penta on the same day also or a few days later
