Hello I don't how you came to know the swelling in pancreas - probably by USG abdomen. Anyway if you have pancreatitis - it may require admission depending on the severity and other features on examination. I suggest you to get examined by gastroenterologist who will guide you further. The causes of pancreatitis could be - alcohol, gall stones among most common.
