Re RCT can be performed on a tooth which is previously treated by root canal treatment if it gets Re infected. It is also possible that the previous root canal treatment was not completed properly but that can be judged only after a look at the X-ray of the tooth. Please post one if you have. Otherwise going for a re RCT is a prudent step to save the extraction of the tooth and alleviation of the symptoms permanently. An endodontist will be the best person to take care of such cases, although any dentist with a considerable experience can also do a good job. Regards
