Is the pain there around shoulder area as well? Most probably this is a Radial nerve impingment, which causes numbeness as well pain in triceps along with forearm, index finger and thumb.
Next Steps
Request you to visit a neuro physician.
Health Tips
Try to do exercises which strengthen forearm and triceps muscle
