If the pain and irritation does not subside or normalize in a week, advice to visit yr dentist again and go for a check up and dental xray..

The pain could be related to the root canal or the crown. A high point in the crown can cause discomfort in the tooth. It would require only a little adjustment by your dentist and you will be comfortable. However if it is due to root canal then it would need further evaluation.
