Oral contraceptive efficacy after 21 day
I am currently taking Yasmin 21 day tablet. Once the pack finishes, I wait for my period(usually comes within 3-4 days), and then take it from the 5th day from my period.
Am I protected from pregnancy during this window (till I begin the next pack on the 5th day).
I have been taking Yasmin for approx 4 months. My 1st and 2nd cycle was regular, in 3rd, period came early and I consulted the doctor, the 4th cycle was also normal.
You don't have to do like this. Please take 21 days pills without a break and then leave one week gap, which will be your pill free interval. After this one week start the fresh pack of pills for another 21 days. In this one week your periods may or may not come. Thats fine. Irrespective of the periods start the fresh pack after pill free period of 1 week. In that one week you will be protected from unwanted pregnancy. So you should go on taking 3 weeks pill, one week gap 3 weeks pill, one week gap and so on.
