I had blood in stool from two years, I was not sure what it was and even was pregnant last year and now have a one year old healthy kid. The amount has decreased now but on and off is there. Bright red mostly mixed with mucous on stool recently changed diet has shown affect but has not gone completely. My father has colitis but he never had blood in stool.

Blood in stool for 2 yrs on & off, can be due to Hemorrhoids or Fissure ( benign), with mucous associated & a family history of ? Colitis, it's better to get it evaluated and diagnosed.
