My grandmother is facing severe pain while changing sides.doctor asked to get MRI done.I am.attaching the MRI ,can you give me an idea ,if this is curable and what exactly it is.
The mri report suggest D9 acute fracture. Rest what it fas mentioned is age related changes in spine with change in curvature and some haemangioma (blood collection in bone since birth or with age) at D10 and some old fracture at D12 &L1. You need not to worry about D10 D12 & L1.
You need to concentrate on D 9 which shows recent fracture. As oer the mri the fracture is partial so it can be managed conservatively..
Next Steps
Use anterior hypertension brace, pain killers, viamin D3, calcuim and biphosphates which i assumed has been prescribed by your orthopaedic consultant.

use brace continuously for next 2 months. removing only while sleeping.

Dear Your grand mother have very weak bones, that is quite usual for her age, she have had a acute fracture of the vertibra, and there are old fractures also. just ask her to rest, this will take about a month to heal, hope she is having drugs to ease out her pain.
