Fundoplication should be undertaken only after complete evaluation. It is important to do a manometry, especially in your case, to assess whether your problems are due to a esophageal spasm/tight gastroesophageal sphincter or due to GERD/loose gastroesophageal sphincter. Along with this your endoscopy findings will also help guide towards the correct treatment. Please do make sure to take a PPI (Pantoprazole/Omeprazole) daily for 2-3 months and check whether you have symptomatic relief, before you plan your surgery. Discuss further details with a laparoscopic surgeon who can help you plan further.
