The vision in left eye is less compared to right eye if there is cataract its always better to get cataract surgery done, retina opinion will be required prior to surgery and post cararact surgery . Strict diabetic control will be required to avoid progression of diabetic retinopathy from NPDR to PDR  kindly get advise from good physician and a dietician in regards to this.

You need a retina opinion and other investigations before it can be decided if laser injection or any other intervention is required...if the cataract is too dense then mayb the doctor wil advice cataract surgery before retina intervention is to be done

Hi.. As you are saying NPDR in both eyes ..means it is early stage..no treatment is required for that ..you just need to control sugars, BPetc..and do routien checks as advises by doctor. The vision in left eye then must be less due to Cataract . Plan for a cataract surgery. Post surgery also the doctor  will keep checking retina.
