Last year Jan my father got hospitalised, pulmonologist said he got some allergy due to which his lungs were unable to pump proper oxygen levels... without external oxygen supply he was getting 82-85 on oxemeter. So, doctor gave steroids to cure the disease after which he was recovering but steroids made him very weak. But after few months he again started getting cough. We have a pet dog at home, not sure if that causing issue. Will air purifier help to clean the air and help my father in reducing cough?

Avoid him from pet exposure.go for chest x-ray and spirometry.once reports available go for chest physician.he may require bronchodilator on regular basis.consult your chest physician soon.
