Molluscum Recurrence

2019-08-23 14:15:54
I first had molluscum (above penis/groin area) in Nov'18. I thought it would go on its own (not knowing what it was). After my visit to a dermatologist (in Feb'19) I was treated for molluscum with a scraping device. It reoccurred after few days and I got treated with the scraping device for the second time in Apr'19. All molluscum were cleared. Now on 17th Aug i again saw a single molluscum in the groin area and 3 on my face (diagnosed later). I want to know why is it recurring. Is it anything serious? How do I permanently get it treated? I got myself tested for HIV a month ago and it's negative.

Good that your HIV is negative.  Molluscum can be recurrent in few individuals. Wherever and whenever it comes,  better to get it needled and curetted before it spreads.  Should slowly stop recurring in a few months.  Warm regards Dr. Govind Suresh Mittal.
