Missed period - abdominal cramps

It's been 3 days my wife missed her period, however she is complaining of abdominal cramps similar to menstrual cramps from past week. Her cycle is generally 26-30 days generally. Could you please let us know the cause of the pain and chances of her being pregnant? We have not used a homekit to test pregnancy yet.
