Missed contraceptive pills

I'm in the last week of taking the combined pill, and I missed two pills in a row. I have followed the advice given and have taken the last missed pill & today's pill. However, the advice given is to go straight into the next packet of pills. I do not wish to do this as this coincides with a holiday. Can I carry on and then still take break?
